Access Holdings Company Overview

Founded in 2013, Access Holdings (“Access”) is a Baltimore-based private investment firm with approximately $0.9 billion of Assets Under Management (“AUM”). Access makes direct investments in essential service-based businesses with enterprise values between $50 million - $1 billion. Access takes a research-based, thematic buy and build approach to investing, looking to acquire businesses in niche service industries that are positioned to outperform.  Access seeks to create value over time through active management oversight and support of its portfolio company partners. 

Position Description

Access Holdings is seeking outstanding candidates to participate in its Summer Associate Program (“SAP”)

Program Overview:

  • Access and each Summer Associate (“SA”) will collectively determine an investment thesis to actively pursue
  • Over the course of the summer, the SA will work to develop the thesis and complete the following objectives:
    • Develop a detailed industry overview and actionable investment thesis
    • Map the industry landscape and gain a strong understanding of the key participants (executives, service providers, potential target companies, etc.)
    • Develop a tactical execution plan for an investment in the space (e.g. how and what to acquire, key diligence items, post close value creation initiatives, etc.)
  • Each SA will be given a discretionary budget to fund the acquisition of industry research reports, travel to attend industry-related conferences, site visits to meet perspective targets, etc.
  • There will be an opportunity to continue the project into the school year and continue working for Access as an intern
  • Top performers will be strongly considered for full-time employment upon graduation

  • Demonstrated ability and interest in working in a small, entrepreneurial team
  • Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance
  • Exceptional project management experience with a demonstrated ability to drive process
  • Strong internal and external communication skills
  • Creative
  • Resourceful
  • 2-4 years of private equity, investment banking, corporate development or consulting experience; or 4-6 years of transactional advisory experience (Big 4 public accounting background is a plus)
